I have enjoyed working with your child(ren), seeing them grow, watching the spark when they find something they like, and connecting with each and everyone. I will greatly miss working with all of the little ones.
As I'm thinking back on my career at LP, I'm amazed at what our students and I have been able to accomplish. We have had an after school art honors program, a newspaper, photography, and a stop animation clubs. I have been a coach for spellbowl and Girls on the Run. Students have won the DARE (drug free) poster contest and Artsonia "Artist of the Week" since I began teaching here. During my years here I have given our students an authentic, global audience through Artsonia, and our artwork has been display not only at our local library, but at the FAME (Foundation of Art and Music in Elementary education) festival. We also have been featured numerous times in the newspaper for the outstanding things that our students have created.
I have won elementary art educator of the year, won many grants for materials for the art room, taught students about fused glass, presented at state and national conventions, been a representative on the board of the Art Education Association of Indiana, been a board member of FAME, and been a building technology leader.
While many of these things may seem like personal accomplishments, they were done for our children & because of their excitement and love of the programs I continued to look for ways to make our art program innovating. I would not be the teacher I am without all of the kids and the families of LP.
Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with me and for your support.
